Steve Harvey flubbed hosting Miss Universe in Vegas, but he can redeem himself in Belize.
The Central American hot spot’s tourism board was so impressed with how the embarrassed emcee took responsibility after announcing the wrong winner during Sunday night’s live broadcast that it is inviting him to host their biggest beauty pageant next summer.
“Dear @IAMSteveHarvey, we all make mistakes. You handled yours with class. Would you host our next pageant?” the board tweeted on Tuesday.
The International Costa Maya Festival running Aug. 6 through 9 is the Caribbean country’s biggest fest. A spokesperson told the News that the tourism board believes Harvey would be a great host even after watching Sunday’s trainwreck, which crowned two different Miss Universe winners in two minutes.

Harvey claimed he made an “honest mistake” in misreading the cue card when he named Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez the Miss Universe winner on Sunday night instead of rightful champ Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach. The comedian stepped forward moments later and revealed his massive mistake, and Gutierrez was unceremoniously stripped of her crown and sash on live TV.

A behind-the-scenes Snapchat post, which has since been deleted, shows Harvey blaming the teleprompter for feeding him the wrong name. Pageant insiders dished to ET that the comedian had also skipped out of a crucial Miss Universe rehearsal.
But Harvey continued to take responsibility publicly on Monday, and apologized to both contestants and their countries on social media.
